On Tuesday, Kevin Doran spoke with a veteran as the great Minnesota get-together celebrated Military Appreciation Day and explored the Agriculture Horticulture Building on the corner of Judson Ave and Underwood Street.

Military Appreciation Day

It’s Military Appreciation Day at the Minnesota State Fair, where the fair honors those who’ve served our country. Kevin spoke with Ret. Army Master Sergeant Mike Evans, who served 24 years in the military, including 20 years on active duty.

Lynn’s Lefse

Doran spoke with Marie Koblas, who has worked every fair at her great aunt’s Lefse stand since she was 15. Lynn opened the booth in the 1980s, and Marie wants to carry on the tradition.

Doran explored the Agriculture Building at the great Minnesota get-together with Dave Nicolai, longtime agriculture educator with the University of Minnesota. Doran spoke with Nicolai about new and future crops under development, such as perennial crops.
