Wednesday, Minnesota Wild fans heard from Kirill Kaprizov himself about his new contract.

The news conference Wednesday follows Tuesday’s announcement that the Minnesota Wild and their Calder Memorial Trophy-winning winger Kaprizov had agreed to a new contract.

The Wild said Tuesday that Kaprizov signed a five-year, $45 million deal that runs through the 2025-26 season.

The 24-year-old Russian native led the Wild and all NHL rookies with 51 points in 55 games last season and became the first Wild player to win the award.
