Jury selection date set for 3 former MPD officers charged in George Floyd’s death
The starting date has been set for the three former Minneapolis Police officers who are charged relating to the death of George Floyd.
Jury selection will begin on March 8, 2022, for Thomas Lane, J Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao. March 7 will mark the official start date, as that day will be used for hearing any motions "in limine or administrative matters."
Opening statements and witness testimonies will start on March 28 of next year.
According to documents filed in court Wednesday, an exchange of trial witness lists will be scheduled by the end of the day on March 4, 2022.
All three face charges of aiding and abetting murder and manslaughter in Floyd’s death last May.
