After her medal-winning performance at the Tokyo Olympic Games, Isanti celebrated its hometown hero, Grace McCallum, on Saturday.

McCallum said her experience hasn’t fully sunk in yet.

"Not really. I don’t know, I haven’t really had time to breathe and let it all soak in yet because it’s go, go, go for the past how many years, so yeah, I don’t think it’s sunk in yet," she said.

Many residents gathered Saturday night to celebrate McCallum after she got back to Minnesota Thursday afternoon. Despite her small-town roots, McCallum said she was ready to take to the global stage.

"I actually felt pretty calm, I was just there and I was having so much fun, I always feel like I compete so much better when I’m having fun and I feel calm, so I wasn’t super nervous going in, I mean we did 1,000 routines in the gym so I know I can go up there and hit it," she said.

McCallum said it may not be the last time we see her at the Olympics, as she’s not ruling out a run at the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
