I-494 weekend closure in Minnetonka area starting Friday

As construction projects start to wind down, drivers still need to be aware of an Interstate 494 closure happening this weekend.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports that due to concrete repairs, all northbound lanes of I-494 from I-394 to Minnetonka Boulevard (Exit 17) will be closed.

The shutdown begins at 10 p.m. Friday and will last until about 5 a.m. Monday.

The detour route is Highway 7 to Highway 169 to I-394.

A similar closure happened earlier this month during which the southbound lanes were closed.
