Hy-Vee now requiring employees to wear masks in midst of pandemic

Monday, Hy-Vee, Inc., announced it is now mandatory that all store and distribution center employees wear masks in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Although Hy-Vee had been providing masks for its employees for several weeks, the company required all employees wear masks or face coverings as of this week.

The requirement is in addition to Plexiglas barriers that have been installed at store counters, social distancing indicators on store floors, and increased sanitation efforts.

Meanwhile, Hy-Vee announced it is offering a 10% bonus to employees for their hours worked from April 13 through May 3. The company stated this is the second employee appreciation bonus that the company has offered; the previous bonus was offered on all hours worked from March 16 through April 12.
