Human remains recovered from Mississippi River in Minneapolis
Authorities recovered human remains Sunday night from the Mississippi River across from downtown Minneapolis.
According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, Minneapolis police officers recovered what appeared to be human remains around 8:40 p.m. from the river near 315 Main Street SE, not far from Xcel Energy Water Power Park.
The remains were taken to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, which will release more information at a later time.
Police have been investigating after finding several body parts belonging to 36-year-old Adam Johnson last month. Investigators have not said whether Sunday’s discovery is linked to Johnson.
