Hudson council approves curfew for bars, restaurants

Tuesday night, the Hudson Common Council approved a curfew for bars and restaurants in the city.

The curfew requires establishments to close at 10 p.m. from Thursdays through Saturdays, as well as around the upcoming holidays.

It comes a day after Mayor Rich O’Connor told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS he’d propose the 10 p.m. curfew at the council’s regular meeting Monday night. However, with the proposal being made that night, a vote wasn’t expected.

The special meeting’s lone agenda item is the curfew and the council could vote to approve the curfew at the meeting.

O’Connor said many people are coming to Hudson from Minnesota because of fewer COVID-19 restrictions on bars and restaurants and investigators are looking into whether the rise in crime is connected to those coming across the river.
