There was a heavy law enforcement presence at a movie theater in Plymouth Friday night after reports of shots fired at the cinema.

Several law enforcement squads were seen outside Emagine Willow Creek Theatre shortly after 9 p.m. Law enforcement was also seen inside the theater.

A witness told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS she was waiting to buy tickets behind a group of kids at the theater when she heard "commotion" and people started running.

"I thought it was, like, a fight," Malinda Maier said. "And then once the crowd like hit the ground and the guy stood there and pulled up a revolver and just started shooting at the crowd."

Maier said she was thankful no one was hurt and that she and her son were shaken by the shooting.

Plymouth Police Chief Erik Fadden confirmed to KSTP that an unknown suspect walked into the theater’s lobby and fired at least two shots. He also confirmed nobody was injured and that the lobby was mostly empty at the time of the incident.

When officers arrived, they cleared the entire theater.

No arrests were made.

The Hennepin County Crime Lab processed the scene Friday.

On Saturday afternoon, an employee told KSTP the theater is closed for the day but will resume normal operations on Sunday.
