Ham Lake man sentenced to 45 years following series of sexual assaults

Friday, a Ham Lake man was sentenced to prison for a series of sexual assaults in Minneapolis over several years.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office said 35-year-old Jory Wiebrand was sentenced to more than 45 years in prison after pleading guilty to four cases of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

In May 2020, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman reported most of Wiebrand’s cases took place from early 2019 to early 2020. Freeman said Wiebrand would reportedly stalk victims at night, in parking lots, on porches and would sometimes break into victims’ homes.

Wiebrand will also have to register as a predatory sexual offender.
