Grand jury indicts man in Buffalo clinic fatal shooting

After being found competent to stand trial in August, a man has been indicted by a grand jury in connection with the fatal Buffalo health clinic shooting that happened in February.

The Wright County Attorney’s Office states 67-year-old Gregory Paul Ulrich was indicted for first-degree murder and four counts of first-degree attempted murder on Friday.

Lindsay Overbay died in the shooting and four others were wounded.

According to police, Ulrich walked into the clinic on Feb. 9 and started shooting. Investigators also say Ulrich detonated two improvised explosive devices while in the clinic. The incident ended with Ulrich surrendering to law enforcement.

Ulrich remains in custody at Wright County Jail and made another court appearance Monday morning. His bail remains at $5 million with conditions that require GPS monitoring, or $10 million without conditions.

Ulrich’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 18.

"(Wright County Attorney) Brian Lutes was slowed in seeking this indictment while awaiting determination that Ulrich was competent to proceed," a news release issued Monday stated.
