Former Gophers shot putter acquitted of sex assault charge
A former University of Minnesota shot putter has been acquitted of a sexual assault charge.
Twenty-three-year-old Kevin Nedrick was charged last year with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after a woman said he’d sexually assaulted her in her room at her roommate’s birthday party celebration.
Nedrick has not competed for the university since his charging. The Westmoreland, Jamaica native attended Barton Community College in Kansas before transferring to Minnesota ahead of the 2020 season.
