Forest Lake police sergeant killed in UTV crash

A Forest Lake police officer died over the weekend in a UTV crash.
The department said Monday that Sgt. Kurt Kowarsch, a 14-year Forest Lake Police veteran, died after a crash while he was operating a UTV in Wisconsin.
Before joining Forest Lake Police, Kowarsch worked at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Annandale Police Department.
No other details were immediately available.
