Firefighters at scene of house fire in St. Paul’s east side
St. Paul firefighters worked early Thursday to extinguish a fire at a residence in St. Paul.
According to Roy Mokosso, the fire captain of the St. Paul Fire Department, firefighters received multiple calls at about 4:15 a.m. reporting a fire on the front porch of the residence in the area of Duluth Street and Minnehaha Avenue.
Upon arrival, Mokosso said firefighters saw heavy flames and smoke, noting the fire had extended to additional floors of the residence.
Firefighters did not find any victims during a complete search of the residence and no occupants were outside the residence either, Mokosso said.
The fire is under investigation.
Firefighters said the residence appeared to be under renovation and significant damage was reported.
