Fire in Taylors Falls damages Wild Mountain maintenance building
Crews were at the scene of a structure fire in Taylors Falls early Tuesday, according to the Chisago County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said multiple crews were working on containing the fire.
The sheriff’s office asked the public to stay away from the area to allow crews to work safely.
Wild Mountain later said the fire happened in its maintenance building.
"Although we have lost many of the tools and machinery inside the building, we are happy to report that no one was hurt. Additionally, the fire was contained to our maintenance building and it did not effect our base lodge or other structures," the ski area said in a social media post.
Wild Mountain added that its team will assess the damage and then make a plan to rebuild the structure in the coming months.
The team will also determine how the fire will affect summer operations over the next few days but said it is confident that winter operations won’t be significantly affected.
"We will make future updates as needed," the post read.
