Fire at Conway Community Center leaves kids, families in limbo

A fire broke out at a popular St. Paul community center over the weekend. Investigators say arson was the probable cause.
The fire was contained to one area of the Conway Community Center, but there is smoke damage throughout the building and it will be unusable for at least the next two to four weeks. In the meantime, they are scrambling to find alternative locations for the camps, school and food distribution that normally take place at the building.
The center is managed by the Sanneh Foundation, a nonprofit group dedicated to Twin Cities youth.
"Times are tough right now. We have 50 or so kids that get three meals a day here and go to summer school," said Tony Sanneh, CEO and founder of the Sanneh Foundation. "It’s a crime against the community."
Sanneh said they are still trying to figure out where to temporarily relocate kids and services.
