FBI renews call for help identifying ‘Umbrella Man’

The FBI is renewing a call for the public’s help in identifying a man who was seen inciting violence in the protests that followed the murder of George Floyd in 2020.

Tuesday, the FBI asked for help identifying the man, who has been referred to as “Umbrella Man.”

The man was seen breaking windows at AutoZone on Lake Street on May 27, 2020, and was also spotted vandalizing the Minneapolis Police Third Precinct.

In the pictures shared by the FBI Tuesday, he’s seen wearing a black baseball hat with a gold or yellow logo and the letters L, M and C, as well as a black shirt with an unidentified picture on it.

Officials are asking anyone with information that could help identify the man to call 1-800-225-5324 or submit a tip online.
