Family offers $7K reward for information about fatal Maplewood shooting
A $7,000 reward has been offered in exchange for any information that would lead to an arrest and conviction in the homicide of Devinn Madley.
The Maplewood Police Department believes three people may be involved in this case. Cameras have been reviewed in the area when Madley was killed on Aug. 28. He was seen walking home from a store.
This marked Maplewood’s first homicide of the year.
"We want answers and want the world to know what’s going on here," Theryl Dugas, Devinn’s father, said on Tuesday. "I mean, he walked to a store … what’s this world coming to that you can’t walk to a store."
Maplewood Police Lt. Joseph Steiner pleaded for the public’s help in this case during a news conference earlier Tuesday.
"Not only the reward money but if someone can just see it in their heart and come forward and help out the family and friends behind us, it would greatly be appreciated," he said.
Steiner added that surveillance video has given investigators some direction in Madley’s case.
"Through the investigation, we do know that three people are directly involved in Devinn’s murder. However, we are still trying to determine who those people are," Steiner said.
The following is a previous version of this story.
The family of a Maplewood man killed last month is asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect.
Madley was found with a gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tuesday morning, Madley’s family and officials are expected to announce a reward for information leading to an arrest.
