Families celebrate Mother's Day differently because of COVID-19 pandemic

Many celebrated this Mother's Day differently because of the COVID-19 crisis.

It forced some families to keep their distance while still trying to be close to mom.

Jodi Halvorsen and her family stopped by Episcopal Homes of Minnesota in St. Paul to see her mother, Nancy, through a window.

Due to the pandemic, visitors aren't allowed inside the building.

It was the first time Halvorsen was able to see her mother in months.

"We haven't seen her face to face since February," Halvorsen said. "So it's been a little hard."

Recently, a birthday party for a resident was held through a window at Episcopal Homes of Minnesota.
