Debris fire sends smoke billowing into St. Paul sky
A MnDOT camera captured black smoke rising from an area in St. Paul shortly before noon Tuesday.
The camera shows it’s in the area of Highway 280 and Energy Park Drive. The fire is believed to be at Metro Metals Recycling.
The St. Paul Fire Department said Tuesday that firefighters were dispatched to the fire just before 11:30 a.m. on the 2500 block of Doswell Avenue.
The department adds crews are working to extinguish the fire in a large debris pile, preventing it from extending to any nearby structures.
