Burnsville crash kills 1, severely injures 2 Saturday morning

One person is dead and two others are being treated for severe injuries at the hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Burnsville Saturday morning, police said.

All three appeared to be teenagers, but their ages have not been verified, police added.

According to a news release, as Burnsville police arrived to check on a noise complaint at the Best Western Premier Nicollet Inn, they saw three people get into a vehicle and speed away.

Then, at 6:26 a.m., police officers and firefighters responded to a crash near the intersection of Nicollet Boulevard and Grand Avenue involving three people. Officials said they are believed to be the same three people who drove off from the hotel.

Paramedics pronounced one person dead at the scene. The two others were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with severe injuries, the news release reports.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash.
