Day 9: Minnesota State Fair attendance breaches 100K for 3rd time
Attendance at the Minnesota State Fair remains low, and more rain on Friday didn’t help matters.
According to the fair’s website, there were 102,020 attendees on Day 9, down 51% from 2019’s record mark of 209,789. It was just the third time this year the fair broke the 100,000 mark. Before this year, single-day attendance had only dipped below 100,000 once dating back to 2015.
The Great Minnesota Get-Together’s box office woes this year have been fueled in large part by hesitation over the pandemic and several days of rainy weather. The State Fair opted not to impose any vaccine or mask requirements.
