Crash leaves 1 dead, 1 with life-threatening injuries in Stevens County
A man is dead and a woman is seriously injured after a crash Friday afternoon in Stevens County, the Minnesota State Patrol said.
According to a crash report, a Nissan Murano was traveling eastbound around 4:39 p.m. on Highway 28 near 580th Avenue in Scott Township, Minnesota, when it entered a construction zone, fishtailed and struck a Freightliner tractor that was doing agricultural work.
The driver of the Nissan, 69-year-old Abdi Mohamud Jama, died from his injuries, according to the crash report. A passenger in the Nissan, 21-year-old Kamil Mohamud Jama, was taken to Sanford Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota, with life-threatening injuries. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
The two occupants of the tractor were unharmed.
