COVID-19 pandemic impacting truck drivers

The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting workers in almost every industry, including those helping to keep stores stocked.

With some restaurants, rest areas and truck stops closing across the country, truck drivers are having a tough time finding a hot meal and shower.

"If it's not a truck stop, you're kind of screwed," trucker Johnny Smith said.

The Minnesota Trucking Association said this week that trucks will continue to make deliveries across the country.

"Necessary food, medicine, and other supplies, and really the things we need for daily life," John Hausladen, president of Minnesota Trucking Association said. "Trucking is the vital link and I want to ensure you, drivers are out doing their deliveries right now and they will be."
