Couple arrested in connection to several burglaries, crimes across the metro

A couple was arrested Wednesday in connection to several burglaries and crimes across the Twin Cities metro area.

Edina Police said a joint effort by Bloomington, Edina and Minnetonka police led to the arrests of 25-year-old David Stanislavovich Petrashov and 32-year-old Lavina Pauline Catherine Renville in Bloomington.

Police said Petrashov and Renville have been the focus of several investigations regarding residential and business burglaries, credit card fraud, receiving stolen property, fleeing police, identity theft and drug possession across the metro.

When they were arrested, police say investigators found several thousands of dollars in stolen property, two guns and various narcotics.

In Edina and Bloomington alone, police say Petrashov is suspected of committing eight burglaries, three cases of damage to property, fleeing police as well as stealing from and damaging vehicles. In Minnetonka, charges regarding a burglary on Dec. 22 that involved jewelry being taken from a 79-year-old’s home, have been submitted to the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office. The vehicle used in that incident was also reported stolen.

Petrashov is charged with first-degree burglary and second-degree burglary.

Police say additional charges are expected.
