A St. Cloud woman charged with killing her infant child in November has been indicted for two counts of murder, according to the Stearns County Attorney’s Office.
Early on Nov. 28, St. Cloud police performed a welfare check on a mother and child and found a dead 3-month-old child in a dumpster behind the mother’s residence, court records show.
Fardoussa Abdillahi, 26, was indicted Wednesday for one count of first-degree premeditated murder and one count of second-degree murder with intent — not premeditated, the attorney’s office announced Thursday. Conviction of first-degree has a mandated life sentence, and Abdillahi could face up to 40 years behind bars for the second-degree murder charge.
Abdillahi is in custody and has unconditional bail set at $2 million, as well as a $1 million bail with conditions including taking medications as prescribed. She has a hearing in March.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension assisted the St. Cloud Police Department with the homicide investigation.
