With warmer weather arriving, many Minnesotans are planning trips up north.
This weekend also marks the state’s fishing opener, putting many people on roads throughout Minnesota.
With many looking to travel, the Minnesota Department of Transportation wants to remind drivers of the more than 200 road and bridge projects throughout the state this construction season.
"Definitely going into the summer season there will be more construction," one driver told KSTP. "Right now, I can’t complain."

Some of the highway work in the metro may affect travel to popular fishing destinations for the next few months, including construction on I-94 from Maple Grove to Clearwater.
The I-35W North MnPASS project will also be done in stages, bringing closures throughout the summer.
Another thing many drivers are noticing is more cars on the road.
But even if it takes longer to get to where you’re going, one driver has a word of advice.
"Just be patient, we can’t do anything about it."
