INITIAL REPORT 8:14 a.m. 8/28/22: Roughly half of Andover residents are currently without water, City Manager Jim Dickinson tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
Dickinson says residents on the east side, or those served by municipal water, have been affected by the issue.
The city is currently evaluating the need for a boil order, and Dickinson says a precautionary boil order will likely be issued.
The water shutoff happened early morning when an equipment failure caused the system to lose pressure, Dickinson says.
Check back for updates as they become available.
Andover residents can monitor the city’s website and Facebook page for new information. Dickinson says the city may also put up signs throughout the community.
