Child’s body recovered from Mississippi River after 3-day search

After a three-day search, Ramsey County Sheriff’s deputies have recovered the body of an 11-year-old boy who went missing in the Mississippi River.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul to look for a boy who had gone underwater and did not resurface. A joint rescue force that included a dive team and an aerial search tried to find the missing child.

The boy’s body was found Thursday afternoon.

Murky water and a strong river current complicated the search effort, according to the sheriff’s office.
