Traffic management cameras captured a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 169 southbound in Plymouth around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning.
A light mist with temperatures around freezing has created icy overpasses across the metro ahead of Saturday evening’s expected snow. This is in the area just north of Highway 55. You can see multiple vehicles attempt to slow down for a stopped vehicle in the left lane before the semi spins out of control, blocking all lanes of traffic. The Minnesota State Patrol says this was a three-vehicle crash with no injuries.
We are also seeing a three-vehicle crash on Highway 77 at Interstate 35E in Eagan on an icy overpass. The State Patrol says there were injuries in this crash but they are non-life-threatening.
Between 6 a.m. and noon Saturday, the State Patrol reports 55 crashes — with ten of them having injuries. One of those injuries was serious. There were 10 vehicle spinouts and two jackknifed semi-trucks.
