Brooklyn Park police believe home hit by overnight gunfire was targeted, no injuries reported

Police say a Brooklyn Park home is believed to have been targeted after it was hit by gunfire overnight.

According to police, officers were called to the 8300 block of Emerson Avenue North at midnight Thursday morning for a report of several shots being heard nearby.

While officers were responding, a second call came in that reported gunfire had hit a home in that same area.

Police say the home was hit “several times” and spent shell casings were found in the street.

Luckily, no one who was home at the time was hit.

As of this publishing, police haven’t said if there are any persons of interest, why the home was being targeted, or how many people were inside.

No other details were immediately provided in the alert.
