A St. Bonifacius man who has been missing for over two weeks is believed to have been found dead Tuesday morning in Savage, the Minnetrista Public Safety Department has confirmed.
Police say they received information of a single-vehicle crash, and they were able to identify the vehicle as belonging to 26-year-old Keegan Oyugi, who was last seen on June 12. Inside the car was a deceased man who matched Oyugi’s description and clothing.
A westbound stretch of Highway 101 to Highway 13 was temporarily closed as authorities investigated the crash scene. That stretch has since reopened.
Oyugi last had contact with family or friends around 4 a.m. June 12. He was going back to his home in St. Bonifacius after leaving the Prior Lake/Savage area, according to the Minnetrista Public Safety Department.
The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the crash scene, and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner will formally identify the victim in the days ahead.
