Bloomington brothers sentenced in 2019 murder
Two brothers from Bloomington have been sentenced for the 2019 murder of a Minneapolis man.
The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office on Friday announced that 34-year-old Preston Sharlow was sentenced to over 31 years (380 months) for second-degree murder in the death of William Albrecht. Sharlow’s brother, 28-year-old Skylar Labarge, was sentenced to over 16 years (200 months) for aiding and abetting.
A criminal complaint states officers spoke with Albrecht’s mother on Nov. 16, 2019, and she said her son hadn’t been reachable since he’d gone to a Bloomington bar and was dropped off at a woman’s home. Officers later learned Albrecht was lured to the home by Sharlow, who was using the woman’s phone.
The brothers were arrested on Nov. 21, 2019, and Albrecht’s body was found that night in Woodbury.
