A new African American community-driven arts co-op will hold its grand opening Thursday.

Black Table Arts Cooperative in south Minneapolis says it will use the arts toward better Black futures and provide programs that invite local artists to see themselves as change-makers.

"It’s really a central hub for the practice and development of Black artists," Black Table Arts founder Keno Evol said. "We can have Black joy without anxiety and paranoia where we can breathe deeply and talk to each other about our ideas."

Black Table Arts is located at 3737 Minnehaha Ave. in Minneapolis.
