Bill that would allow alcohol sales in park across from US Bank Stadium awaits governor's signature

Vikings fans could have more places to legally drink when they return to U.S. Bank Stadium for home games.

State lawmakers passed a bill before the end of the legislative session that would allow the sale of alcohol in Commons Park, just outside the stadium. The bill would also allow alcohol sales in Boom Island Park and the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.

The bill, which unanimously passed the House on Saturday, awaits Gov. Tim Walz's signature and the approval of the Minneapolis City Council.
