Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul to be turned into COVID-19 care facility

M Health Fairview announced Tuesday that Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul will be made into a COVID-19 specialty care facility.
The hospital will increase capacity from 50 to 90 beds, including 35 intensive care beds and 55 medical-surgical beds.

The move comes after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended health care providers implement strategies to limit the exposure of healthcare works and vulnerable patients to the virus.
Current patients at Bethesda Hospital will be transported to other M Health Fairview locations.
