Beltrami County crash that killed Woodbury man now under investigation as hit-and-run
A fatal crash in Beltrami County Monday is now being investigated as a hit-and-run incident.
The Minnesota State Patrol incident report initially indicated a Jeep Wrangler was traveling south on Highway 72 at about 10:50 a.m Monday when it left the road near Sunny Beach Road and rolled into the ditch.

In an update Tuesday, the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office reported there were witnesses who may have seen "suspicious activity" in the area of the crash, as well as in the nearby town of Kelliher.
The sheriff’s office stated officials now believe the driver of a vehicle involved in the crash may have driven away from the scene.
The sheriff’s office is asking for the public’s help in the investigation, particularly in identifying an individual captured via surveillance video following the incident.
