The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating after two Carver County deputies shot a suspect with a knife, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were called to a domestic incident on the 7800 block of Harvest Lane in Chanhassen around 2:11 p.m. Saturday.

While deputies were talking with the woman who called, a man came out of the home with a knife, authorities said.

Deputies told the man to drop the knife, but he “continued to quickly advance.”

Two deputies shot their firearms, hitting the suspect multiple times.

The man was brought to Hennepin Healthcare, where he is in stable condition, authorities told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.

Carver County Chief Deputy Sheriff Patrick Barry stated that both officers are on critical incident leave.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured a presence of law enforcement and crime scene tape on the 7800 block of Harvest Lane.
