BCA identifies parties involved in officer-involved shooting in Robbinsdale
Tuesday, authorities identified the people involved in an officer-involved shooting in Robbinsdale on Sunday.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) identified the officer who fired his weapon as Sgt. Geoffrey Kusick, an 11-year veteran of the Crystal Police Department. He is on standard administrative leave.
The man who was shot during the incident was identified as 29-year-old Adam Paul Nelson. He remained at a hospital Tuesday for treatment of his injuries.

According to the Robbinsdale Police Department, officers were dispatched to a report of a suicidal individual with a gun inside a home on the 3300 block of France Avenue North at about 11:38 p.m. Saturday. Police said Nelson then unexpectedly came out of the home with a firearm and began advancing on the officers. After he ignored commands to stop, Kusick shot Nelson.
Nelson was then taken to North Memorial Medical Center.
The BCA said portions of the incident were captured on body cameras and dash cameras.
An investigation into the incident remains active.
