Authorities searching for man accused of kidnapping, carjacking and robbing woman
Help is needed in finding a man accused of kidnapping a woman and forcing her to drive to a nearby bank before taking her money Tuesday.
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office says it is searching for a man who allegedly forced a 61-year-old woman into her vehicle on the 3900 block of Northwoods Drive in Arden Hills shortly before 7:30 a.m. in an underground parking ramp.
The woman told authorities the man held her at gunpoint and forced her to drive to the intersection of East Franklin and 27th avenues in Minneapolis before telling her to get money from an ATM.
Afterward, authorities say the man took her money and then ordered her to drive to Matthews Park, where he ran away.
The woman wasn’t injured.
Police gave a suspect description of a stocky Black man in his 40s who was wearing a dark baseball hat, a jacket and long-sleeved shirt that were both dark in color, a black surgical mask and cloth gloves.
Anyone who knows who the suspect is or where he may be is asked to call 651-266-9558.
A photo of the suspect wasn’t immediately available, however, authorities say they will release a photo of the man if one becomes available.
