Authorities identify body found in Chippewa River

Thursday, authorities identified a body found Tuesday in the Chippewa River in Dunn County, Wisconsin.

The Dunn County Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a body upstream of the old railroad bridge in the town of Dunn at about 9:54 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities responded and found a man's body.

The sheriff's office identified the body recovered as 66-year-old Steven L. Feld. He had been homeless but residing in Eau Claire, according to the department.

An autopsy indicated his death was consistent with freshwater drowning, the sheriff's office said. No traumatic injuries were found on the body.
