Attempted break-in reported at Minneapolis home, police investigating man’s death

Minneapolis police are investigating a man’s death after an attempted break-in was reported Monday.

The incident happened at about 1:18 a.m. at a home on 11th Avenue North near Irving Avenue. Police responded to a report of someone attempting to break into a residence in the area.

Upon arrival, police found the man, who was in need of medical attention, on the porch. First responders reported the man wasn’t breathing and that they couldn’t find his pulse.

The man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died.

Homicide investigators and crime lab personnel were at the scene Monday morning to begin an investigation.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner is expected to release the man’s official cause of death.
