ATF assisting in investigation of large downtown St. Paul fire

The St. Paul division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) is assisting in the investigation of a large fire downtown St. Paul that happened Tuesday morning.

On social media, the ATF stated it is assisting the St. Paul Fire Department and the State Fire Marshal’s office in the investigation.

Investigators are working to determine the origin, and official cause, of the fire.

The development site on fire was the Seven Corners Gateway site, which was to include hotel rooms and apartments. Kaeding Development Group was leading the project, and had invested $68 million in the development.
