All I-94 lanes now open near downtown St. Paul

All eastbound and westbound lanes on Interstate 94 between Interstate 35E and Western Avenue are now open.

The on- and off-ramps from Marion Street/Kellogg Boulevard to I-94 are also open.

Traffic was down to two lanes in both directions of I-94 since July due to construction.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) reports that crews will complete some last-minute work, and if all goes as planned, this year’s construction will be done by Thanksgiving.

Construction along I-94 and I-35E is expected to wrap up in the fall of 2022, with work resuming this spring.

According to MnDOT, the project will repair and resurface I-94 and I-35E, resurface ramps and frontage roads, upgrade storm sewers and more.
