Air quality alert in effect for most of Minnesota
An air quality alert is in effect until about 3 p.m. Friday.
The alert is in effect for the majority of the state, according to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
The National Weather Service reports haze due to Canada wildfire smoke is settling over Minnesota, decreasing visibility in addition to diminishing air quality.
Those most likely to be affected by poor air quality include those who have asthma or other breathing conditions, people with heart disease or high blood pressure, children and older adults, and all who engage in extended or heavy physical activity outdoors.
Affected Minnesotans are advised to stay inside and limit outside air intake.
