8 reports of tornadoes south of Twin Cities

Severe storms whipped through southern parts of the state Wednesday, with eight reports of tornadoes south of the Twin Cities.
The National Weather Service (NWS) stated two tornadoes were reported near Owatonna just after 7 p.m.
Meanwhile, tornado warnings were issued for Dakota and Scott counties and expired late Wednesday.
There were also reports of trees down near Morristown and Dundas in Rice County.
According to the NWS, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was spotted 6 miles south of Farmington just before 10 p.m.

The National Weather Service reports that a confirmed tornado was spotted at 8:24 p.m. near Webster and another was located at 8:48 p.m. near Lakeville.
Tornado warnings were also issued for Carver, Rice and other counties south of the metro. Those have since expired.
