65-year-old woman robbed of her purse in Maplewood Cub parking lot, 2 suspects at large

A 65-year-old woman was robbed of her purse Monday night in the parking lot of a Cub grocery store in Maplewood.

Maplewood Minnesota Public Safety reports that, at about 8:30 p.m., the woman was getting into her vehicle when a suspect with a blue shirt and an apparent cast on his right arm approached her at the grocery store located off of Rice Street.

He told the woman she had dropped something, and when the woman backed up to see what she dropped, the suspect reached into her vehicle and grabbed her purse.

The victim grabbed the shoulder strap of her purse and began yelling. The victim alleges the suspect pointed a gun at her while they struggled and she let go of the purse. The suspect then reportedly ran away.

According to surveillance video, the suspect and a second male in a camouflage sweatshirt arrived at the business together in a gray or tan Honda Pilot. The two were seen in the store together before the robbery took place.
