The search for a child who was inside a stolen vehicle ended shortly after the car was taken Sunday evening in St. Paul.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, a 2005 Chevrolet Impala was stolen from the Walgreens parking lot at 1585 Randolph Avenue just before 7 p.m. and was found unoccupied minutes later two blocks away, near Macalaster Street and Niles Avenue.

Officers were able to find the 6-year-old girl unharmed shortly after.

The incident comes a day after a 1-year-old boy was inside a running Jeep when it was stolen from outside a home in north Minneapolis. The boy was found safe in Brooklyn Center after a woman spotted the vehicle detailed in an Amber Alert.
