The 2022 Twin Cities Auto Show at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds will feature 12 electric vehicles to test drive, with more on display.
The recently-unveiled Ford F-150 Lightning is one of the electric vehicles on display throughout the event, which will run from Saturday, May 14 through Sunday, May 22.
Ford’s Mustang Mach E is also available to test drive, as well as the Jaguar I-PACE.
“If you have never test driven one, you just gotta come out and do it because it is the future, and it’s fun,” Twin Cities Auto Show Director Mary Velline told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS.
Attendees can learn about electric vehicle technology at Xcel Energy’s Electric Vehicle Neighborhood, and interested buyers can view charging demonstrations and get charging cost information.
“You put your foot on that pedal and it really goes, that’s what they say,” Velline said. “Start doing your research now, and if and when you’re ready, you’ll be in the know.”
For those interested in experiencing an electric vehicle’s cornering, acceleration and other abilities, a professional driver will take guests around a custom course.
Families with children will also have several fairground blocks of entertainment, and activities will run throughout the week.
Kids can ride in a monster truck, meet drivers and enjoy the variety of shows, including the ATV Big Air Tour, daily parades and an appearance from Joe Mauer on the final day of the event.
“We’re open for nine days of a lot of fun,” Velline said.
