4-year-old dies after being pulled from Minneapolis hotel pool last week

A 4-year-old boy who was pulled from a pool at a Minneapolis hotel last week has died.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Alani King’Yeh Tyler died Tuesday afternoon from complications of freshwater drowning. His death was determined to be an accident.

According to the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called at about 2:30 p.m. on May 20 to the Normandy Inn on Eighth Street on the report of a potential drowning. Tyler was pulled from a pool and was unresponsive. He was then taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
